Our Curriculum

At Selsdon park Pre School we believe that children learn best through play, therefore we use a play-based approach to their learning. Much of their early learning and development takes place through play and hands on experiences, so we follow the children’s lead and interests, and build upon their learning as it happens.

Our curriculum is inclusive of all children and aims to support them by being happy, confident and independent learners.

Young children can learn and develop holistically, meaning that many areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage can develop at the same time usually through one activity. We plan activities based around themes/topics aimed to spark their curiosity- learning naturally and creatively. This results in children who have developed better communication and social skills and greater confidence.
